FAQ

What makes HearLink a cost-effective alternative to BAHA devices?

HearLink offers a budget-friendly solution for individuals with hearing challenges such as Microtia, Atresia, or Glue Ear. While it is not a medical-grade device, it provides significant hearing support by transmitting sound directly to Bluetooth headphones, including bone conduction headphones. This makes it a practical substitute for more expensive BAHA devices in many everyday scenarios.

Can HearLink be used with any Bluetooth headphones or audio devices?

Yes, HearLink is compatible with most Bluetooth headphones, earbuds, and audio devices, including wireless bone conduction headphones and AirPods. Its Bluetooth 5.2 technology ensures reliable and seamless pairing, offering crisp, lag-free audio with aptX support.

How do I use the wireless remote microphone function of HearLink?

The wireless remote microphone function allows you to clip HearLink onto your collar for personal conversations or place it on a table to capture voices during group discussions. This function helps enhance speech clarity by transmitting the captured audio directly to connected Bluetooth headphones within a range of 10 meters (33 feet).

How long does the battery last, and how do I charge it?

HearLink provides up to 8 hours of continuous use on a single charge. The device is powered by a 140mAh lithium battery, which takes approximately 2 hours to fully charge using the included USB-C cable. This ensures convenient and reliable use throughout the day.

Works well under some conditions. Echos under other conditions. Likely, it is called operator learning experience.

The device works, but it has so much latency that it sounds like an echo.

Hello Mark,

Thank you for your review on HearLink.

We're sorry to hear that you've experienced latency causing an echo. HearLink uses aptX technology to minimize latency, so we're curious about your specific use case. Could you please share more details on how you're using HearLink?

If you're using it as the Audio Transmitter (External Mic), please double-press the MF button to enable stereo sound. If you're using it as the Bluetooth Microphone for conversation (Internal Mic), please make sure you double press the MF button to disable the stereo sound for optimal low-latency performance.

For your information, every time you turn on HearLink, it defaults to Bluetooth Microphone mode with optimal low-latency performance, NO need to double-press the MF button.

We've sent you an email with the attachment of 'HearLink Sound Mode Guide' to get more information. Could you please try again, and let us know if the sound latency has improved?

Thank you, Mark, and have a great day!

The device works okay, but the software is no longer compatible with android phones. So to setup the device to be able to use it you will need a very old phone that still works. The batteries I got seemed old when I got them and never lasted long enough.

My overall impression of the device is, these devices were made many years ago and parts like the batteries and the rubber usb port cover have reached the end of their life without ever being used.

Very good device and appears to do what we wanted.

The HearLink 3-in-1 does what it says on the tin. I use Shokz Airopex. One thing I didn’t notice mentioned was that there is a very slight delay in sound making the audio experience echo a bit. While that does not detract from the performance directly it does give the impression of living in a gold fish bowl.
